MANIFESTO

The real motive behind sharing something so raw and personal is to serve as a testament to the inherent possibilities that exist in diverging from conventional paths. It is my opus on travel, meant to encourage readers with similar desires to pursue the road less traveled and to witness firsthand how it can be done.

To provide some context, it’s important to preface with how this journey came about.

I moved back to my hometown in Colorado after earning my degree in 2020. I eagerly returned to embark in a career as a civil litigation paralegal, while simultaneously preparing for the LSAT. As time went on, a growing realization prompted me to acknowledge that the corporate environment was suffocating and stifling my true aspirations.

Misery had its limits, and in defiance of prevailing norms, I transitioned into the service industry. This sector not only provided me a stable income but also afforded me greater flexibility and autonomy. It was ultimately this decision alone that enabled me to pursue independent travel.

I relocated to Oahu, Hawaii in 2021 after gaining acceptance to UH School of Law, and maintained work while I awaited the academic term. During this time I took the opportunity to pursue a standing desire to travel before committing fully to legal studies. This led me to the pivotal decision of booking a solo one-way ticket to Asia.

Originally intended as a brief interlude, this experience bled truth into me and profoundly altered my perspective and priorities. Despite having planned to commence law school in the subsequent year, I opted instead to pursue a route of exploration and again resume traveling overseas. I liquidated all my possessions and purchased a one-way ticket to Barcelona.

This narrative aims to illustrate the transformative impact of fostering independence and discovering profound fulfillment through uncharted avenues.
